JOB POSTING
The National Tropical Botanical Garden is seeking an experienced and motivated individual to join our
team as a Security Guard at our South Shore Gardens (Allerton and Mc Bryde).
Primary duties include patrolling the premises, including buildings, grounds, and housing, to detect
suspicious activity, assist staff, volunteers and guests, and ensure the safety of all. Additional support
services include opening and securing facilities; incident response; and minor maintenance.
The ideal candidate will have prior security experience, valid Hawaii Driver’s license with clear record, and
be able to demonstrate sound judgment and the ability to defuse tense situations. Knowledge of South
Shore Garden/ HQ complex and operations ideal. Security Certification preferred.
Schedule: Varies
Pay Range: $19.37-$22.00/ hr., DOE
