Secretary Lead
Coyote Ridge Corrections Center (CRCC)

The Department of Corrections is seeking a highly motivated and qualified individual to fill one (1) permanent position for Secretary Lead at Coyote Ridge Corrections Center.

COYOTE RIDGE CORRECTIONS CENTER (CRCC) is located on a 60-acre site about 40 miles north of the Tri-Cities. CRCC is comprised of two-complexes. The Medium Security Complex (MSC) is a 2,048 bed facility that houses Incarcerated Individuals (I/I) with Medium and MI3 Custody. MSC consists of 4 Hybrid units and 4 Medium units. The Minimum Security Unit (MSU) is a 480 bed facility that houses assisted living and MI2 Custody I/I. MSU consists of 2 units. This is a work/program orientated facility that offers many educational, vocational, and self-help programs and Class II and Class III Correctional Industries work programs.

Duties

This position will provide clerical support to the Correctional Program Manager and is responsible for providing training and support to the facility Office Assistants in support of the Department of Corrections mission.

Other duties include, but are not limited to:
  • Process Custody Facility Plans (CFPs). With delegated authority, upon final signature of the CPM, execute recommendations into the Offender Management Network Information (OMNI), including initiating transfer orders and managing offender classification holds as COM delegates..
  • As delegated by the CPM, correspond with the Headquarters Community Screening Committee (HCSC) concerning custody overrides and work release referrals, as well as other various changes in I/I programming to ensure proper procedures, policies, and timeliness are met.
  • Upon signature of the CPM, execute OMNI entries. Update and complete all correspondence to make sure policies and timeliness are met.
  • Receive, log and distribute Extended Family Visit, Restoration of Good Conduct Time, Medical Hardship, and Marriage Application packets.
  • Manage Prohibited Contact forms.
  • Log and ensure the accuracy of the On-Site/Off-Site and Correctional Industries,(CI), Program Referrals.
  • Screen eligibility of CI Applications before CPM reviews.
  • Run and print OMNI reports for monitoring Classification Counselors' case loads.
  • Serve as liaison to various employees under the supervision of the CPM.
  • Provide direct administrative and confidential secretarial support for the CPM.
  • Manage and compile data for the Television Rental Program, Capstone tracking database/reports, I/I Payroll, and Global Tier Representative meetings and minutes.
  • Perform On Base scanning as needed and train support staff in the process.
  • Assist other clerical staff to include the Superintendent's Secretary, the other CPM Secretary Lead, and the Capacity Manager.

Qualifications
Required:
  • High School Diploma or Equivalent
  • Two years of increasingly responsible office experience requiring keyboarding
    or typing and including experience directing the work of others.

  • Must be able to work in spaces, climb stairs, walk long distances, and frequently lift up to 30 pounds. Under rare circumstances this position may be required to lift or carry up to 50 pounds and push up to 100 pounds.

Telework Details
This position may be allocated for telework. Work may be performed from your home or another offsite location within the state of Washington using a reliable internet or cellular hotspot service at that time. Employees are expected to perform assigned duties in a safe manner, to take proper care all state-issued equipment, and maintain confidentiality of all information in possession while working offsite. Employees will be required to commute to a Department of Corrections facility or field office as business requires, to potentially include components of the onboarding process. Some offices will have a “drop in” area available, however, a dedicated workspace within a DOC facility will not be provided.
