Sales Representative (Northeast)

Chem-Trend, a company of the Freudenberg Group, is a global leader in the development, manufacture and marketing of specialized release agents, purging compounds and related processing aids, with manufacturing and R & D operations in North and South America, Europe and Asia that are supported by its headquarters in Michigan, USA. Chem-Trend has a singular focus of providing innovative solutions for the die casting, polyurethane, rubber, composites, tire, thermoplastic and wood composite industries.

Chem-Trend is seeking a highly motivated Sales Representative to drive sales growth in the wood composite and polyurethane industries in the Northeast United States and Canada. This position will be responsible for achieving growth of the business within the territory every year by maintaining and expanding current business, securing new business, adjusting prices based on market conditions, and identifying new markets for our Technology.
Sales Representative (Northeast)

Responsibilities
  • Assist customers in their efforts to be cost-effective, using effective value-added selling techniques to outline the benefits of our products.
  • Grow market share in assigned territory; meet or exceed annual territory budgeted forecast.
  • Meet or exceed division’s average selling prices in the core product lines to maintain profitability levels.
  • Identify and communicate industry trends, territory activities, competitive activity, and customer requirements to ensure that Chem-Trend can meet or exceed expectations within the industry segment and other new markets. Prepare timely written and verbal reports.
  • Maintain excellent working relationships with customers through regular contact with decision-makers, corporate management, and influential personnel at any level. Maintain Chem-Trend’s image of supporting the product after the sale through excellent customer service.
  • Conduct product trials for new product developments and provide feedback to the technical staff and the laboratory.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Science, or related field or equivalent experience.
  • 7+ years of experience in sales preferably in the wood composite or chemical specialty industries.
  • Able to travel up to 75% with overnight travel.
  • Strong decision-making skills to address issues effectively and in a timely manner.
  • Goal-oriented and long-range planning aptitude to promote continued success of assigned territory.
