We are looking for the right individual who is capable of managing a staff of seasonal and year-round garden enthusiasts. We are looking for someone who is ready to lend their skillset to the tasks of organizing schedules and has the right mindset to encourage staff-members to sell the correct product that will assist our customers with their gardening needs. Knowledge of perennials, shrubs, trees and annuals is a bonus, as you will be leading a team of individuals to care for a large inventory of plant materials and teaching employees how to connect our customers with the right plants or products for their garden, but this skillset can be taught. Responsibilities
Oversee daily store operations, ensuring compliance with company policies and procedures.
Manage cash handling processes, including daily reconciliations and deposits.
Lead and motivate the sales team to achieve sales targets and enhance customer satisfaction.
Conduct employee orientation and training programs to ensure staff are well-equipped to serve customers effectively.
Maintain accurate inventory control through regular audits and stock management practices.
Assist in recruiting new team members, fostering a positive work environment that encourages growth and development.
Monitor sales performance metrics and implement strategies to improve overall store performance.
Address customer inquiries and resolve issues promptly to maintain high levels of customer satisfaction.
Collaborate with upper management on store merchandising, promotions, and marketing initiatives.
Requirements
Proven experience in retail management or as an Assistant Manager with strong leadership capabilities.
Excellent customer service skills with a focus on enhancing the shopping experience.
Proficient in cash handling and basic math skills for financial transactions.
Strong sales acumen with the ability to drive revenue growth through effective strategies.
Experience in employee orientation, training, and development practices.
Knowledge of inventory control processes and best practices.
Ability to work flexible hours including weekends as needed.
Strong communication skills with the ability to engage effectively with both customers and team members.
East Branch Organics is an organic garden center located in the heart of the High Peaks Region of the Adirondack mountains in NY. We grow a wide variety of plants here on site in our five greenhouses. We also host a wine and spirits shop, a craft beer store and manage many beautiful gardens around our beautiful area. This is a year-round position that offers a competitive salary, benefits and vacation time. Weekends are required on a rotational basis. Housing may be an option.
