Responsibilities This position is responsible for conducting research activities and maintaining associated facilities including greenhouses. Research Activities:
Executing research experiments as per the protocols developed by Research Scientists and Research Manager;
Executing day-to-day operations of research experiments according to the requirements of the projects. This involves scheduling, resource allocation, administrative duties and workflow coordination etc.;
Ensuring compliance with protocols, safety standards, and regulatory requirements;
Analyzing and interpreting data, ensuring the accuracy and integrity of the data;
Participating in training programs as needed;
Performing a variety of other related minor duties as required.
Quality Assurance and Control:
Implementing quality assurance and control procedures to ensure the accuracy and reliability of results;
Maintaining research equipment, troubleshooting technical issues, and coordinating repairs and maintenance as needed;
Conducting regular audits and inspections to assess compliance with quality standards and protocols;
Developing and validating research methods to support research and development projects.
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in soil chemistry or agronomy;
Relevant research experience for 3 to 4 years in managing research facilities associated with soil chemistry and agronomy;
Experience with greenhouse pot studies is desirable.
Reporting and Work Relationships This position reports to Scientist & Research Manager. Location This is a national recruitment with a duty station at the IFDC office based in Muscles Shoals, Alabama. Benefits IFDC's benefits include annual and sick leave, health, dental, vision and group life insurance coverage, a 13th-month salary, social security and pension contribution in compliance with local laws. Salary Clause The salary grade for this position is BG 6 with a starting salary of USD 45,387. The determination of new employee salaries takes into account various factors. These include the salary range linked to the assigned job grade, the candidate's qualifications in relation to the job's responsibilities and prerequisites, internal fairness, the competitive state of the job market, as well as potential organizational and budgetary considerations.
