Job description Healing Transitions Recovery Engagement Specialist - Women’s Campus Full Time There are two positions available. Extensive use of computers and documentation required in this position. Required: Third shifts Required: Training shifts will be required over first and second shifts. Required: Weekends Required: Monthly staff meeting every second Thursday 1:30-3:30p. Required: Must complete all assessments to be considered for the position. Preferred: Peer support specialist and or work experience in the addiction and recovery field. Key Responsibilities · Provides support and encouragement to engage participants in the recovery process; · Assess the health and well being of participants at all times; · Assess and monitor vital signs and the level of withdrawal/intoxication following Healing Transitions Detox guidelines · Ensures that participants understand and complete all necessary intake documentation · Continually assess and observe participants regarding medical/psychiatric emergencies and makes appropriate referrals; · Maintains current participant records and ensures appropriate storage and confidential handling; · Assures that a safe environment is maintained; · Works closely with other departments regarding issues related to program participants; · Coordinate after hours referrals from law enforcement, other community providers, or first-time guests · Ensures pertinent resources and information are available to guests Education, Experience and Attributes
Valid NC Driver License is required; this position is responsible for providing transportation in Healing Transitions vehicles, including large vans;
Must be familiar with Healing Transitions program and be able to engage participants in the recovery process;
Must be able to meet the physical demands of the job
Ability to multi-task with attention to detail;
Must possess flexibility and dependability;
Ability to work as part of a team; must be adaptable and enjoy a fast paced work environment;
Completion of a High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
If a former participant in Healing Transitions program, at least 6 months in recovery off campus preferred;
Certified Peer Support Specialist preferred.
Must be able to work all shifts and holidays.
