Job Summary
Delivers professional, skilled nursing services for all clinical programs including Immunization, Communicable Disease control and other areas/programs as assigned by Health & Human Services (HHS) Director. Responsible for maintaining the highest standards in clinical nursing practice and adherence to policies, procedures, guidelines and standards of practice and Gunnison County Health & Human Services (HHS). Provides for the preventative, therapeutic and restorative aspects of nursing care based on systematic assessment of client, family and community needs and core public health services.
Pay Rate
The starting hourly range is from $33.79 to $38.48, depending on experience, plus partial benefits.

Requirements:
  • Must possess a valid Colorado driver’s license.
  • Must complete ICS 100 and ICS 700 within the first year of employment.
  • Current license to practice (in good standing) as a registered nurse (RN) in Colorado. Special certification as appropriate and required for expanded functions.
  • Current CPR.
Qualifications/Education:
  • A Baccalaureate degree in nursing from a school accredited by the National League of Nursing. Public Health experience preferred, or
  • Graduation from a N.L.N., State approved diploma school of nursing, with three years’ experience, at least one of which includes supervision. Family Planning and Child Health nursing experience is desirable. Public Health experience is preferred.
  • For expanded functions, completion of an organized educational program in a specific clinical area.
  • Recent pertinent continuing education.
  • Completion of Universal Precautions/ Bloodborne Pathogen training within 30 days of hire and annual review.
Knowledge/Skills:
  • Knowledge of Public Health Nursing principles and practices, and core public health services.
  • Knowledge of Community Health programs.
  • Knowledge of clinic organization and its implementation.
  • Knowledge and acceptance of Public Health practices, philosophy and concerns including standard immunization practices and family planning practices.
  • Ability to provide skilled nursing care.
  • Ability to exercise independent judgment and effective problem-solving skills as well as skill in setting priorities.
  • Ability to recognize the needs and concerns of all people and to maintain constructive relationships in dealing with them.
  • Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing and do simple math.
  • Working knowledge of basic lab procedures.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality, protect client’s rights and follow HIPPA regulations.
  • Knowledge of child, infant, women, nutrition and epidemiology.
  • Computer skill’s desirable.
  • Possession of a valid driver’s license.
  • Ability to accept and utilize supervision.
