Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Archaeologist to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in archaeological research and analysis, with expertise in utilizing various tools and technologies such as Arc GIS and GPS. This role involves conducting fieldwork, analyzing artifacts, and preparing comprehensive reports to contribute to our understanding of historical sites.
Duties
Conduct field surveys and excavations to collect data and artifacts.
Utilize Arc GIS and GIS technologies for mapping and spatial analysis of archaeological sites.
Supervise field teams, ensuring adherence to safety protocols and project timelines.
Analyze collected data and artifacts in a laboratory setting, applying research methodologies.
Prepare detailed reports documenting findings, including technical writing of research results.
Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to build comprehensive archaeological assessments.
Engage in ongoing research to stay updated on current archaeological practices and technologies.
Experience
Proven experience in archaeological fieldwork, including supervising teams.
Proficiency in using Arc GIS, GPS technology, and laboratory analysis methods.
Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data effectively.
Excellent report writing skills with a focus on technical documentation.
A background in research methodologies relevant to archaeology is preferred.
