Program Director

Position Summary: The Program Manager will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of our organization. This position requires a highly organized and detail-oriented individual who can manage multiple tasks and support the team to include outreach, marketing, raising money, fundraising, grant writing. The ideal candidate will have a passion for serving veterans and a commitment to our mission.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Office Management: Maintain an organized and efficient office environment, including managing supplies, equipment, and office space.
  • Marketing: Develop and implement comprehensive marketing strategies that align with organization goals. Collaborate with management to develop long-term marketing plans and growth strategies.
  • Grants: Identify and research potential funding opportunities from government agencies, foundations, and corporations.
  • Communication: Handle day-to-day communications, including answering phone calls, responding to emails, and managing correspondence.
  • Event Support: Assist, and at times lead, in planning and organizing events, including fundraising activities, cultivating and maintaining relationships with funders, community outreach programs, and volunteer recruitment.
  • Record Keeping: Maintain accurate records and files, including productivity reports, membership databases, donor information, and volunteer rosters.
  • Financial Support: Perform basic bookkeeping tasks, such as processing invoices, tracking expenses, and preparing financial reports.
  • Participant Coordination: Support the recruitment of participants, ensuring they are well-informed and engaged in our programs.
  • Volunteer Coordination: Support the recruitment, training, and coordination of volunteers, ensuring they are well-informed and engaged in our programs.
  • General Administrative Duties: Prepare documents, reports, and presentations; and provide customer service to visitors and callers.
Qualifications:
  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent; additional qualifications in office administration, grant writing, fundraising & financial knowledge are a plus.
  • Experience: Proven experience in networking & fundraising, or similar role. Grant writing experience is a plus. Prior work with veterans, preferably in a non-profit organization also a plus.
  • Skills: Excellent organizational and time-management skills. Self-driven, requiring minimal supervision. Strong written and verbal communication abilities including public speaking. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Power Point) and other office software. Attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines. Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion and confidentiality. Familiarity with basic bookkeeping and financial reporting.
