Program Coordinator, Office of Diversity and Inclusion


The Program Coordinator is responsible for assisting in the planning and implementation of programs and services offered through the Office of Diversity and Inclusion. The Program Coordinator reports to the Director of Diversity and Inclusion.

Essential Duties Summary
  • Help coordinate cultural programs and diversity trainings across the campus to promote cross-cultural understanding, inclusion, belonging, and engagement among faculty, staff, and students
  • Support the enrollment, orientation, and retention of students from diverse backgrounds, focusing on support in areas such as race, ethnicity, socioeconomic status, gender identity, sexuality, disability, nationality, and military status
  • Assist the Director in monitoring academic progress of students in the Passport First-Year Exploration Program and provide referrals for academic supports as needed
  • Act as a mentor, advocate, and ally for individual students and for recognized cultural organizations
  • Create and maintain departmental social media campaigns on a weekly basis
  • Actively receive visitors in office, helping connect students with additional resources on campus to help address their needs
  • Perform any other duties as assigned

Required Qualifications
Education
  • Bachelor’s Degree required


Experience
  • 1-2 years’ experience working at a college or university required, which could include work as a student leader

Required Skills and Knowledge
  • Student-centered, unbiased approach to supporting and advocating for students
  • Experience with Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, Power Point) or similar products
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities at once
  • Creativity and self-motivation
  • Interest in working with diverse groups of people
  • Strong organization and planning skills


Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with planning and implementing cultural and social justice programs preferred
