The University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB) is seeking a PROGRAM ADMINISTRATOR II to administer the logistical support for a University-wide program, which is often of a large and/or complex nature. May participate in developing program plans, objectives and directives. May supervise support staff. Acts as a communication liaison with outside resources. Plans and carries out special projects related to the success of the program. Responsible for adherence to program budget. May provide education and training to UAB community.
This position reports to the Director of Art Play and is responsible for overseeing the coordination, administration, and execution of the following Pre K-12 Programs: Vocabby's World Early Childhood Literacy program, Meet the Artist and Day in the Arts field trip programming, and in school arts programming and performances. The position will support the following Pre K-12 activities: Pre K-12 classes and camps, Art Play's robust theatre program, Art Play satellite sites.
RESPONSIBILITES:
Leads the Vocabby's World program for ages infant-5 children and their families. Strategizes growth and development of the program. Manages a team of teaching artists, student and contract support staff. Leads the UAB Arts field trip program in coordination with local school districts to increase access to UAB Arts programming through Meet the Artist and Day in the Arts programs. Supports Art Play summer camps, spring break camps, and Pre K-12 Art Play class offerings held on the UAB campus. Supports Art Play Pre K-12 satellite programs in local childcare centers and schools. Collaborates with AEIVA staff to promote and execute Alabama State Department of Education standards-aligned K-12 learning experiences. Collaborates with other Alliance departments and external organizations when needed to organize, promote, advertise, and execute assigned AP programs. Participates in the interviewing and selection of Teaching Artists and other PT positions responsible for the execution of AP programs. Creates onboarding and training sessions for contract support in Vocabby's World, field trip, and in school programming. Serves as Art Play educational K-12 school liaison, working with local schools to schedule all on campus and off-site programs throughout the area promoting Art Play programs. Coordinates with the Office Manager to ensure administrative duties associated with assigned programs are completed in a timely manner. Maintains accurate data and records of assigned programs. Measures success of programs with feedback from surveys. Maintains and submits proper documentation related to contracts, payments, and Pre K-12 grants. Art Play's representative for designing unique, original arts integrated lessons for all K-12 programs aligned with Alabama Course of Study. Development and implementation of all programs and professional development workshops. Establish and maintain positive relationships, both internally, throughout UAB and in the community. Establish, implement, manage, and monitor a budget for Pre K-12 programs. Responsible for other duties as assigned.
(Hourly Rate: $18.35 - $29.80)
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in a related field and one (1) year of related experience required. OR AN EQUIVALENT COMBINATION OF RELEVANT EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE.
Preferred Skills: Experience in working with children, comfortable with public speaking/ interactions, creating/ executing artistic/educational programming for children.
