Production Manager (Home Renovation/Construction experience required)

The Production Manager will be responsible for ensuring projects coming out of design by the Project Coordinator is watertight from a construction, cost and execution standpoint. Ensure the PCs have a team of PMs that are dedicated, educated, excellent and accountable. Each project hits our high standards based on quality of work, organization, job logs, photos, schedules, identification of issues and rapid resolution. The Director of Construction plays a pivotal role in fulfilling our mission of tangibly improving the lives of our customers and our employees. They manage the process to transform the houses of our customers. Duties and responsibilities ● Accountability- leading and managing project managers to ensure the successful execution of all projects, with a focus on construction quality, exceptional customer service, and profitability. ● Team Management – verify recruits for company and role fit for roles that land in the construction department. ● Customer Engagement – step in ahead of projects becoming an issue when you see SOPs not being followed. ● Sub-contractor Management – step in when a PM or a PC identifies a problem subcontractor or problem situation. ● Training Resource – keep up to date on code changes, new techniques and ensure that each field staff is growing in their knowledge and efficiency. Suggests areas that need redirection based on issues not being resolved; send to the VTO. ● Financial Management – Reviews “issue” job EVAs weekly and all construction projects on a monthly basis to generate accurate4 WIPs. ● Process and Quality Evaluation – critically evaluate the build quality of current projects, educating the Project Managers and Project Coordinators as necessary. ● Job site visits for evaluation of projects. ● Company Leadership – member of the company leadership group, participates in key decisions and strategic conversations ● Materials Management – oversee the execution of building product ordering and delivery. Identify and immediately resolve inefficiencies. ● Following Company Processes and Systems – ensure compliance on company processes. ● Holds daily 1 on 1 meetings with PM’s (1 per day). ● Holds weekly group PM meetings to discuss wins, losses, best practices and development. Requirements ● Bachelor’s Degree or experience in lieu of. ● Experience – 10+ years in home construction related field, 5+ years managing multiple job sites ● Leadership – ability to coach, develop and motivate people, ability to be part of the decision-making process at the company level ● Communication – proven ability to communicate effectively with clients, subcontractors, employees, and office staff ● Jobsite Management – ability to manage multiple phases in the construction process on multiple jobsites ● Mechanical Skills – ability to work with a variety of tools and machines. ● Critical Thinking Skills – ability to problem solve when issues arise on multiple projects and foresee them before they occur Tools Required Skill saw, Reciprocal saw, Multimaster, Battery operated drill and screw gun, Basic hand tools, Compressor with Framing, 16-gauge, 18-gauge & 23-gauge guns, Jigsaw, Table saw, Chop saw, 6-foot levels, Grinder, Rotary Hammer, Router & Personal work vehicle Physical requirements Job requires balance of sitting in front of a computer for several hours at a time and the physical strength to lift and wield heavy tools and materials, including lumber. Physical stamina is also required with most jobs require standing, climbing, lifting objects, and/or bending down for long periods at a time.
