Parts Room Supervisor Aviation

Precision Air Inc. is looking for an Aviation Parts Supervisor, for their site in Florence, SC. The successful candidate will perform, supervise, and direct all duties assigned to the parts room(s). The Parts Supervisor will assist in all duties of the incoming inspection and receiving details described by the Repair Station Manual section.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Be thoroughly familiar with the procedures as set forth in the Precision Air Quality Control Manual and AS-9110B
  • Assist, supervise and direct all personnel assigned to the Parts Room.
  • Be familiar with the documentation required for receipt of civil aviation articles.
  • Ensure all incoming materials, parts, supplies, components, equipment and tools used by the Repair Station are subject to a Receiving Inspection to assure conformance with the associated purchase order and/or other applicable specifications.
  • Responsible for inspections of articles and/or materials for items such as shipping damage, traceability of life limits if applicable, and the identification and tagging of parts.
  • Conduct preliminary, hidden damage, in-progress, and final inspection of all items processed by the repair station and record results as outlined in the Repair Station Manual.
  • Ensure all items determined non-airworthy because of their condition and/or certifications are quarantined and tagged appropriately. Ensure such items are released for use only after receiving proper certification that determines the item to be air worthy.
  • Oversee the proper tagging and identification of all parts and components as outlined in the Quality Control Manual.
  • Ensure purchase orders are only issued to Repair Station approved vendors. Conduct vendor audits on a scheduled basis and ensure suppliers have established and continue to maintain the quality system specified in purchase orders.
  • Vendor audits will be conducted every (2) years or less. This can be either a physical or paper audit as deemed applicable.
  • Maintain a list of authorized vendors
  • Identify, control, segregate and maintain all stock in a serviceable, repairable or unserviceable category.
  • Ensure the preservation of all articles or parts, while carried in inventory, including parts that are subject to deterioration and shelf life specifications.
  • Control all inventory, including adherence to shipping/receiving and parts handling approved under the PA QCM.
  • Distribute to all pertinent departments any miscellaneous technical information that is received by the Parts Room.
  • Ensure ESD sensitive items are inspected in accordance with ESDS requirements on an approved ESDS workstation.
  • Generate sales order packing list and sign, or stamp, the “certification statement” on the packing list.
  • Maintain the premises of the Spares Department in a clean and orderly condition.
  • Prepare quotes for “over the counter” sales, inventory, tagging and traceability of all parts.
  • Maintain shop tool inventory and track calibrated list to insure compliance with FAA repair station
EDUCATION/QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Prior aviation parts distribution experience.
  • Must have and be able to maintain a valid driver’s license.
  • Must pass a pre-employment drug test and adhere to random screening per company policy
  • Must be able to walk and stand on level and/or inclined surfaces for certain periods throughout the day.
  • Must be able to climb stairs, ramps, ladders, and work stands.
  • Must be able to crouch, grasp or handle objects, use finger dexterity, bend elbow/knee and reach above/below shoulders.
  • May be required to lift up to 70 pounds.
  • May be required to see/read dials/gauges and identify small objects
  • Must be able to see imperfections during parts inspection
  • Must be able to communicate by voice and detect sound by ear.
  • Must be able to distinguish color and judge three-dimensional depth.
  • May be required to operate fork lift (Forklift training preferred, but not required)
  • Proficient with Microsoft Excel, Outlook and Word computer programs.
  • Strong documentation and organizational skills
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Working knowledge of inspection practices of aviation articles.
  • Ability to work unsupervised.
