Able to work from drawings, sketches, pictures, or verbal specifications.
Able to use standard spray paint equipment: paint guns, sanding equipment, orbital sander and common hand tools.
Able to repeatedly climb and descend scaffolds, ladders, and other related equipment with or without reasonable accommodation.
Able to wear a respirator and pass a pulmonary function test.
Physical and muscular dexterity to stand or kneel for extended periods during painting, sanding or while working on aircraft.
Must be able to lift and carry 50 pounds with or without reasonable accommodation.
Must not be abnormally allergic to paint, paint stripper, solvents, primers or other paint related products that produce fumes or dust while using.
ADDITIONAL DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Experience painting with spray gun equipment
Familiar with and able to use electro static paint spray equipment
Familiar with Non-Chromate High Solids Paint Systems
Familiar with Lean Manufacturing principles
WORKING CONDITIONS:
Work location for this position is in climate-controlled hangar, with occasional outside work. Involves exposure to chemicals and dust levels set by OSHA standards.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES (ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS):
Work from drawings, sketches, pictures, or verbal specifications to prepare for and paint aircraft, aircraft parts and sub-assemblies.
Strip paint from aircraft, aircraft parts and sub-assemblies.
Prepare surfaces for painting by sanding, steaming, cleaning, and conversion coating.
Cover all areas to for protection from paint or stripper with proper materials.
Set up and operate all shop equipment and tooling.
Set up and use spray gun for proper application of paint.
Work in a safe manner in accordance with OSHA and Company safety procedures.
Accurately log all labor data into computer system.
