Position Summary The Brake Press Operator will be responsible for setting up and operating brake presses for bending/forming metal parts according to engineering and manufacturing specifications. Essential Duties/Job Responsibilities (Job Duties)
Set up, check, and operate 8’, 10’, and 12’ Trumpf and Primeline, brake presses.
Identify correct materials for Job.
Inspect and assess parts, by performing periodic quality checks.
Adjust machine settings as needed, to troubleshoot issues.
Detect and report defective materials or questionable conditions.
Maintain tolerances determined by part specifications.
Perform material handling functions, including loading materials for job runs using forklift.
Use NAV operating system to scan completed jobs, print and apply labels.
Minimum Qualifications/Skills:
High School Degree or GED
Knowledge of brake press capabilities and functions.
Perform daily housekeeping to maintain departmental standards.
Ability to read and comprehend blueprints, diagrams, and schematics.
Ability to skillfully and safely operate job specific tools and equipment.
Ability to work independently within a team environment.
Strong attention to detail
Strong verbal communication skills
Possess mechanical skills; Machining skills also appreciated.
Experience:
Advanced knowledge using measuring tools (i.e. Tape measures, Micrometers and protractors).
Experience in a light manufacturing or sheet metal manufacturing setting preferred.
Experience using NAV operating system a plus.
Forklift experience a plus.
Requirements:
Work environment and working conditions are reflective of a light manufacturing setting.
Perform work on concrete floors for duration of shift.
Must be able to lift and move (push, pull, carry) items weighing up to 50 lbs.
Must be able to raise arms above shoulders regularly and freely rotate arms/shoulders to lift/move parts.
Must be able to kneel, crouch, stoop, bend, and squat when needed.
Work will include repetitive hand, arm, wrist, and leg motion.
Will need hand and finger flexibility and dexterity and excellent eyesight with or without corrective lenses.
