Nurse, Chief Quality & Patient Safety

VA Portland Health Care System: Quality, Safety, and Value (QSV) is recruiting for Chief Nurse, Quality & Patient Safety
The Quality and Patient Safety, Chief is a key leader in strategic planning, organizational assessment, and facility program development. The Quality Chief Nurse will participate with facility leaders on Medical Center initiatives and assists with planning and decision making processes for facility programs.

The Quality Chief Nurse has the authority and responsibility for establishing standards of quality across all levels of the health care system ensuring quality of care across the Medical Center.
The Quality and Patient Safety, Chief is a key leader in strategic planning, organizational assessment, and development of facility programs and is accountable to the Deputy Director of Patient Care Service (DDPCS), and a direct report to the Medical Center Director.

The Quality and Patient Safety, Chief provides oversight to the following programs:

High Reliability Organization
Systems Redesign/Performance Improvement
Quality Consultants & Accreditation
Risk Management
Patient Safety
Cancer Registry

Preferred Experience:

Managing a hospital-based quality, safety value program or service
Seven (7) years nursing experience with at least three (3) years VHA employment
Experience working at a Magnet or Pathways designated facility
Knowledge of Joint Commission Accreditation Standards, tort claims management and patient safety
