There is plenty of free parking in our secure parking lot just steps away from the building. Typical core work hours are Monday – Friday between 8:00 am – 4:30 pm excluding observed holidays. The Network Specialist has a large office with a nice view of trees, water, and mountains. EXAMPLE OF DUTIES
THE JOB: You will be working with a three-person networking team within the Information Technology Unit to monitor and maintain the JPD and CCF/R networks and devices. Primary duties include: Monitoring and managing network performance, security and backups. Troubleshooting day-to-day technical issues with a variety of computer equipment from barcode scanners to security systems to mobile data terminals. Creating end user accounts, assigning access, and providing day-to-day help-desk support to end users.Building, deploying, configuring, and maintaining workstations, laptops, mobile devices and other equipment. Assisting with routine diagnostics, installations, configurations, and repair or maintenance of hardware, systems and infrastructure including Windows servers and public safety licensed microwave links. Assisting the Radio Specialist with installations at remote radio sites within the City and Borough of Juneau. Assisting senior level positions or technical teams with custom or highly complex integrations, upgrades, or resolving issues involving multiple departments or systems.
