A local Colorado Springs children's theatre is looking for a qualified Musical Theatre Instructor. This wholesome, family-honoring company's desire is to help young actors develop their craft, as well as to build character, confidence, and creativity through the art of theatre. This position would start with training and subbing during this fall, followed by teaching classes starting in January. Additionally, we have Spring Break and Summer Camps (about 35 hours a week). Spring Break Camp is held the last week of March. We offer 10 weeks of Summer Camps. The number of camp weeks scheduled is flexible. Applicants must CURRENTLY live in Colorado Springs and should have a degree (or in progress of a degree) in Acting, Musical Theatre, Theatre Arts, or a similar degree. As a musical theatre instructor, you would be responsible for teaching students ages 4-18 musical theatre. (We have 5 age groups: Ages 4-Kindergarten, Grades 1-3, Grades 4-5, Grades 6-8, and Grades 9-12. Instructors won't necessarily work with all age groups.) Scripts and teaching curriculum would be provided, but the instructor would be responsible for the blocking and choreography. Musical Theatre instructors MUST be able to teach: ACTING, SINGING, and CHOREOGRAPHY. During the school year, classes are offered after school or on Saturday mornings, with Friday afternoon classes for our homeschool families.
