PART TIME
Medical Surgical Nurse
We are an outpatient fertility clinic specializing in reversal sterilization surgery for both men and women in Midtown Raleigh. We are looking for a Part-time Surgical Nurse to work Monday through Thursday. Prior surgical experience is preferred but not required.
The part-time nurse is responsible for preoperative preparation, surgery circulating, and post-operative recovery.
On surgery days there is always a dedicated circulating nurse and a dedicated recovery room nurse. The part time office nurse will work in either of these two roles. Usually in conjunction with a PRN nurse or one of the full time office nurses depending on staffing.
The part time surgical nurse job requires a person be flexible but available Monday through Thursday to assist with reversal surgeries. The part time nurse generally arrives at 7:50 - 8:00 am and stays until surgeries are completed. Surgeries are generally completed between 1pm to 2 pm and depends on the number of surgeries scheduled that day.
This position requires but also offers flexibility. Surgeries are offered Monday through Thursday. Up to a maximum of four (4) surgeries can be scheduled but most days will have three (3) surgeries.
Surgeries are scheduled three (3) to six (6) weeks in advance. This means the number of surgery cases on each day is known with a high degree of certainty at least three (3) weeks in advance.
Prior surgical experience is not required and on the job training can be provided. Although surgery is performed under general anesthesia, surgical patients are carefully selected. High risk surgical candidates are not accepted for surgery. The vast majority of patients do well and are extremely happy with their care.
Although surgical nursing may seem intimidating to many potential nursing applicants, surgery at A Personal Choice is not as stressful as hospital provided surgery because of a stable surgical staff, a single (easy to get along with) surgeon, a stable and capable anesthesia staff, and a limited number of surgical procedures that limit the stress of having to learn different skill sets.

Pay: $32.00 - $36.00 per hour
