Hiring Medical Physicist in Tennessee Location: Tennessee

Job Overview:
We are looking for a highly skilled Medical Physicist to join our team in Tennessee. The ideal candidate will play a critical role in developing and evaluating radiation treatment plans, ensuring the safe delivery of radiation therapy, and conducting quality assurance processes. This position requires collaboration with radiation oncologists and other team members to optimize treatment efficacy while maintaining patient safety.
Key Responsibilities:
Calibrate and maintain therapy equipment to ensure accurate radiation dose delivery.
Lead machine maintenance and coordinate repair efforts.
Oversee radiation dose distribution in treatment planning (computerized dosimetry or direct measurement).
Maintain records in compliance with APEx, NRC, state, and other regulatory requirements.
Design and manage quality management programs involving external beam radiotherapy.
Lead the medical physics service to meet established standards and available resources.
Implement procedures to evaluate equipment performance in radiation oncology.
Assess and integrate new technology, conducting acceptance testing as needed.
Consult with radiation oncologists to optimize patient treatment plans.
Provide technical oversight to radiation oncology staff.
Qualifications:
Master’s or Doctoral degree in physics, biophysics, radiological physics, or health physics.
Minimum one year of full-time training in therapeutic radiological physics.
One year of experience in a therapy facility, including calibration and spot checks of teletherapy units.
Preferred Skills and Experience:
Completion of a clinical medical physics residency program.
Board certification by the American Board of Radiology in Therapeutic Radiological Physics.
Knowledge of radiation safety principles and Tennessee/NRC regulations.
Proficiency in Aria and Ray Station treatment planning systems.
Strong teamwork, time management, and communication skills.
