Medical Informatics and Infection Control Specialist

Medical Informatics & Infection Control Specialist (Full Time)
Position Summary:
The Medical Informatics & Infection Control Specialist integrates the Certified Community Behavioral Health Clinic (CCBHC) primary care screening and targeted conditions philosophy, mission, goals, policies/procedures, and governmental regulations into educational programs/medical care practice by interfacing and collaborating with CCAs medical team to optimize client care.
Qualifications:

BSN and/or PA required, Masters degree preferred or graduate certificate in Nursing Informatics or Public Health, RN or PA license.
Experience with an EHR.
Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office Suite.
Ability to adapt and quickly learn electronic programs utilized across the agency.
Ability to communicate clearly and professionally.
Ability to work independently and effectively to solve problems.
Ability to participate as a member of a team.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Outstanding organizational and time management skills.

Responsibilities:

Work with the following groups: nursing, prescribers, medical assistants and behavioral health.
Support Medical team with understanding CCBHC Quality Measures and assist IT/EHR in structuring data in EHR to easily capture information.
Assist with implementation of nursing care data-related processes, optimize current processes using the EHR system, and serve as the bridge for IT/EHR and medical team, assisting with triaging issues and participating in any CQI activity.
Communicate and inform medical team on new processes, and support the training of medical team on using the EHR.
Interpret the data being collected and communicate those findings to the other providers and management team.
Lead effort in QA activities to meet nursing and medical practice standards.
Facilitate the monthly Nursing Practice Standards Committee drafting the agenda that may include education, review of medical outcome metrics and trends, review of policies and procedures and updates to the electronic health record.
Participate in the monthly CCBHC Medical Issues Workgroup.
Serve as Infection Control Specialist for monthly COVID Workgroup; annual review and update of the Infection Control Manual and reviewer for all Infection Control related Incident Reports.
Actively participate in regular, reflective, and collaborative supervision. Be prepared with questions, concerns, and other related material prior to beginning each supervisory session. Share pertinent information with supervisor and team members regarding work progress, success, barriers, concerns and other areas that may have an impact on programs, services or agency-wide.
Demonstrate continued sensitivity to and respect for differences in language, culture, socioeconomic status, gender identity, sexuality and individuality pertaining to clientele and colleagues.
