Job Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and knowledgeable Medical Biller to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing the billing process, ensuring accurate coding, and facilitating timely collections. This role requires a strong understanding of medical terminology, coding systems, and the healthcare billing process. The Medical Biller will work closely with healthcare providers and insurance companies to resolve billing issues and maintain patient records.
Duties
Process and submit medical claims to insurance companies using appropriate coding systems (ICD-9, ICD-10).
Review claim in the Payerpath Clearing house. Make corrections and rebill claims
Must have knowledge of Clearng house rejections code
Send claims to seoncdary payers
Post daily insurace payments from insuracne companies EOB's
Apply Quality care measure CPT2 codes to claims
Review patient records and ensure all necessary documentation is complete for billing.
Verify patient insurance coverage and eligibility prior to services rendered.
Follow up on unpaid claims and resolve any discrepancies or denials in a timely manner.
Maintain accurate medical records and ensure compliance with healthcare regulations.
Communicate effectively with healthcare providers, patients, and insurance representatives regarding billing inquiries.
Stay updated on changes in medical billing regulations, coding practices, and reimbursement policies.
Knowledge of Medicare billing inclduing Gcodes and Annual Wellness visits
Review and work month A/R reports
Qualifications
Proficiency in medical terminology and understanding of medical coding practices.
Experience with DRG (Diagnosis Related Group) coding is preferred.
Familiarity with medical office operations and electronic health record (EHR) systems.
Knowledge of medical collection processes and best practices.
Strong attention to detail with excellent organizational skills.
Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team environment.
Previous experience in medical billing or related field is highly desirable.
