Medical Biller
Job Overview
As a Medical Biller, you will play a crucial role in the healthcare industry by ensuring accurate billing and reimbursement processes for medical services. This position requires a strong understanding of medical terminology, coding systems, and billing procedures.
Duties
- Utilize medical coding systems such as ICD-9 and DRG to assign appropriate codes to diagnoses and procedures
- Process medical claims for insurance companies and government healthcare programs
- Review and verify accuracy of patient demographic and insurance information
- Communicate with healthcare providers to clarify billing information or obtain necessary documentation
- Maintain patient medical records and ensure compliance with privacy regulations
- Handle medical collections and follow up on unpaid claims
Experience
- Proficiency in medical terminology, medical office procedures, and medical billing software
- Knowledge of medical coding practices and regulations
- Experience with electronic health records (EHR) systems is a plus
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data entry
- Excellent communication skills to interact with patients, insurance companies, and healthcare providers
Job Types: Contract, Temporary, Internship
Pay: $20.65 - $21.55 per hour
