Job Overview
The Medical Coordinator plays a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of our medical practice. This position requires a detail-oriented individual who can manage administrative tasks, support patient services, and facilitate effective communication between patients and healthcare providers. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in medical administration, with knowledge of the pre-authorization process.
Duties
Complete the prior auth process to assure patient care standards are meet.
Perform all duties of the pre-authorization process and assistant supporting staff.
Act as a subject matter expert for prior authorization.
Primary interface with patients and their families, support staff on issues impacting prior authorization.
Understand all aspects of the functionality of prior authorization and the customer service cases.
Complete assigned tasks accurately and within specified time limits.
Maintain smooth working relations with co-workers and supervisors.
Return phone calls to patients and follow up with requests in a timely fashion.
Treat co-workers and customers with patience and respect.
Assist other staff and support the team approach. "Team Player"
Communicate appropriately and clearly to patients, co-workers, and physicians.
Arrive to work on time. Consistently be at work. Display flexibility regarding lunches, breaks and work hours.
Willingness to work overtime when requested.
Perform other duties as assigned.

Experience in front desk operations within a medical office setting.
