What You Should Know About the Medical Assistant Position:
- Hours are 8:00-5:00pm, Monday-Friday
- This position is based within Jefferson Regional Practice Management
- In this unique setting, daily interactions with a diverse clientele, including hospital staff, physicians, and visitors, are expected.
Job Summary:
The Medical Assistant working in an outpatient clinic setting is responsible for performing various administrative and clinical duties. This role will work directly with all members of the healthcare team to ensure efficient and quality patient care.
Medical Assistant Qualifications:
- High School diploma or equivalent
- Technical Diploma: Certified or Registered Medical Assistant preferred.
- Associate Degree: Medical Assisting or other related field preferred.
- One-year patient care experience preferred. Medical Assistant role is a plus.
- Experience using electronic health record preferred.
- Strong computer skills.
- Excellent communication skills, written and verbal
- Strong attention to detail, problem solving and time management skills.
- Basic medical terminology knowledge.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Be able to listen actively, empathize and convey information clearly and compassionately.
- Adaptability as needed.
- BLS- upon hire or obtain within 30 days of hire.
- Certification- CCMA, CMA, RMA, NCMA preferred.
- This position is a safety sensitive position.
