Job Type: Full-time Job Description Shift: 1st Shift, Monday - Thursday Purpose of Position:
The candidate will be responsible for ensuring that all plant processing and facilities equipment operate at peak efficiency on a daily basis.
Key Responsibilities:
Maintain and repair processing equipment.
Maintain and repair facilities equipment.
Perform preventive maintenance on both processing and plant equipment.
Troubleshoot electrical systems.
Troubleshoot mechanical systems.
Communicate and document all work performed.
Complete other duties as assigned by management.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
High school diploma or equivalent.
Prior experience in a manufacturing environment is preferred.
Strong aptitude and demonstrated experience in the following areas:
Mechanical repair
Electrical troubleshooting (24V to 480V) and repair
Working knowledge of PLCs, servo motors/drives, and AC/DC variable speed frequency drives
Mechanical troubleshooting
Plumbing and pipefitting
Welding and fabrication
Machine tool operation
Facilities maintenance
Decisions and Responsibilities:
Must demonstrate Journeyman-level competency in all required trades.
Ability to manage and independently perform projects.
Provide mentorship to Maintenance Mechanic 1 staff.
Technical Requirements:
Certification or licensure in one or more of the following is required:
Electrical installation, troubleshooting, and repair (24V-480V)
Mechanical troubleshooting and repair
Welding and fabrication
Pneumatic troubleshooting and repair
Machine tool operation
Plumbing and pipefitting
Facilities repair
Experience with repair and maintenance of high-speed processing and paper converting equipment is preferred.
Physical Requirements / Working Conditions:
Must be able to lift up to 10 pounds regularly; occasionally up to 75 pounds.
Ability to see clearly at close and far distances, including peripheral vision and depth perception.
Must be able to hear and communicate effectively over loud noise.
Frequent standing, walking, and sitting is required.
Required to use hands to handle, feel, or manipulate objects, and to reach, stoop, kneel, crouch, and crawl.
Ability to work in a noisy, dusty manufacturing environment.
Must be able to move throughout the facility to perform job functions.
Able to work in varying temperature conditions depending on the weather.
