This position offers a competitive salary, bonus potential and a benefit package after 30 days. DAILY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Supervise sort staff; schedule, and monitor, and evaluate their work.
Run night operations safely and effectively. Safety is always a priority!
Instruct and train staff in the proper methods and procedures for performing work.
Inspect work in progress and upon completion for accuracy.
Respond to employees questions and assists in resolving issues.
Ensure the work is performed in compliance with established standard policies and procedures.
Ensure customer needs are met daily.
Document and resolve any customer service or associate issues daily.
Ensure all associates follow Capstone policies and work rules including Capstone safety work rules.
Hold daily/weekly safety meetings and ensure associate participation.
Supervise timely and accurate data entry for all services performed.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Minimum 2 years of Supervisory / leadership experience in an industrial /warehouse setting.
Experience with Independent contractors, receiving, processing, sort operations.
Key Responsibilities:
Supervision: Lead and manage a team of Independent Contractors engaged in yard marshalling duties.
Operational Oversight: Coordinate the movement and organization of vehicles within the yard, ensuring efficient loading and unloading processes.
Safety Compliance: Conduct inspections of vehicles and yard operations to maintain safety standards and protocols.
Team Communication: Facilitate effective communication among team members and with other operational shifts to ensure smooth transitions.
Documentation: Maintain accurate daily logs and reports to track productivity and yard activities.
Training and Support: Provide training and support to Independent Contractors, ensuring they understand safety procedures and operational protocols.
Yard Maintenance: Ensure the yard remains clean, organized, and free of hazards, including the proper spotting of trailers.
Problem-Solving: Address any issues that arise in yard operations, implementing solutions promptly to maintain efficiency.
Ability to solve problems and make effective decisions in a fast-paced environment.
Intermediate PC skills with knowledge of Excel, Word, Outlook, and Power Point.
Possesses a can-do determination and fire to get the job done.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
Warehousing, Logistics, Supply Chain or Third-Party experience preferred
BS/BA Degree or associate’s degree with Equivalent Experience is a plus but not required
Proven track record in supervision of warehouse employees including Hiring, Training, and Termination.
Experience with managing budgets and ability to create & maintain various management reports.
Excellent aptitude in estimating rates, adding, and subtracting mentally while constantly multi-tasking.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Ability to walk the yard and stand for long period of times.
Ability to safely operate material handling equipment as needed.
Ability to work in warehouse environment on concrete flooring and in varying temperatures
Ability to lift up to 75 lbs
