LOGISTICS SPECIALIST II (Procurement & Drayage transportation)

SUMMARY
The Logistics Specialist II (Procurement and drayage transportation) is responsible for supervising the raw material shipping operations to achieve excellence in executing and controlling assigned both international forwarder (NVOCC) and container transportation company.
Inbound shipping is responsible for monitoring all raw material shipments from South Korea and China to Hanwha Q CELLS Dalton, GA plant and ensuring service and cost are met with the targets as well as defining and implementing improvement projects.
Drayage transportation operation is responsible for management all raw material transportation from import port (Savannah, LA) to Hanwha Q CELLS Dalton, GA plant warehouse and searching for good trucking company and doing bidding for selection company and cost reduction and defending irregular cost such as demurrage, detention.
RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Procurement Logistics
- Processing all import transport orders and daily transport planning
- Creating shipping reports (or checking report accuracy from LSP) and sharing
- Monitoring and managing raw material procurement and shipment from origin.
- Daily check and manage vessel space operation for on-time shipment.
- Searching for good LSP (Logistics service provider) frequently.
- Progress special/express raw material shipments and transportation.
2. Drayage transportation operation
- Processing all transport orders and daily transport planning
- Transportation capacity planning for short and mid-term
- Creating reports and sharing related departmental content
- Regularly evaluation, selection of new transportation company and cost negotiation.
- Prevent irregular costs by monitoring Free time in CY (Demurrage/Detention)
- Monitor, identify, and implement improvement opportunities for cost and service.
- Searching for a good transportation company frequently.
- Doing bidding to reduce costs frequently.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- A bachelor’s degree in related field
- 2-3 years of supply chain operations with logistics experience and equivalent education
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Access with strong analytical skills
- Ability to work in a cross-functional teamwork environment with other areas of the business and providing on-site support as needed.
- Fluent in both Korean and English
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- CPIM, CSCP
- Strong knowledge of SCM and logistics
- Experience in high-volume and multi-site distribution with a solid understanding of FMS, TMS/EPR systems highly desired
- Fluently speaking in Korean and English
