Job Summary:
Maintaining cleanliness in public areas and providing exceptional guest service. This role involves heavy cleaning of lobbies, hallways, and public spaces, as well as escorting guests to rooms, handling luggage, and offering information about facilities and attractions.
The Details:
Position Type: Seasonal
Season Dates: early-May through early-October 2025
Pay: $14.60/hr + tips
Schedule: Typical schedule is 40 hours, 5 days per week (may include weekends, evenings, and holidays)

Heavy cleaning of lobby, public porches, walkways, and hallways. May be assigned cleaning duties in recreation rooms. Cleans public restrooms and surrounding areas.

Cleans rugs, carpets and upholstered furniture using vacuum cleaner, brushes, and shampooing machines. Washes and polishes floors by hand or machine.

Maintain cleanliness of housekeeping vacuums, closets, storage areas, and other equipment.

Wash walls, ceilings, woodwork, metal work, windows and blinds.

Escorts incoming hotel guests to rooms and assists in handling luggage.
- Offers information about available services and facilities, points of interest, attractions.
- Organizes and manages group tour baggage pulls and keeps track of the number of bags each group has.
- On opening a room for guests, ensures it is in order and properly stocked with amenities. Also explains operation of the heater, lights, etc.
- Deliver messages, extra towels, ice, roll-away beds, cribs, and run errands, etc. to guest rooms according to instructions from front desk.

Build and maintain fire in lobby and other public room fireplaces.
- Cut and chop wood and kindling for fires.
- May give walking tours to arriving guests and groups on locations.
- Set up rooms for conventions, sales meetings, banquets and social functions inclusive of decorations, amplifying equipment, furniture and other apparatus.
- Provide guests with the best in service, courtesy and care.
- May be required to assist with room turnover in the evenings.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Ability to work alone and often without direct supervision.
- Must have an adaptable approach to daily chores and possesses a flexible attitude.
- Must be organized with an eye for detail.
- Ability to follow instructions and count accurately.
- Knowledge of Company policies and procedures, willingness to comply with both.
- Commitment to keep up the quality of Housekeeping Standards learned during the training period.
- Ability to gain extensive knowledge of the Historic hotel/motor inn as well as of Glacier Park, services, hiking, and attractions.
- Must be a people person who thrives on public contact. Must be friendly, outgoing, enthusiastic and courteous in dealing with guests and co-workers.
- Ability to relate with guests in a courteous and friendly manner. Must be able to handle guest concerns in a professional and tactful manner.
Physical Requirements include:
- Lifting/carrying up to 50 pounds as needed throughout the day. Constant lifting and carrying of supplies and guest luggage throughout the day.
- Constant moving, walking, kneeling, bending, stretching, reaching, carrying heavy objects, and climbing staircases (no elevator available) for up to 8 hours per shift. Handles large amount of baggage by cart or hand.
- Standing for long periods of time, frequent walking up and down stairs, as well as in outdoor areas sporadically throughout the day.
- Pushing a hotel cart or cabin cart up to 50-75 pounds as needed.
- Working safely with required chemicals.
