Lease Operator Job Description Reports To: Operations Manager Safety Expectations Spartan Companies 300, LLC desires to maintain a strong and effective safety culture. Description Operations Manager Support One of the most important tasks of a Lease Operator is to assist the Operations Manager in all job functions laid out by the Operations Manager. Anything the Operations Manager requests should take priority over your day-to-day tasks outlined below. As a lease operator, you are responsible to monitor equipment and procedures. This job has a wide range of work situations. Duties are performed independently with minimal supervision. Errors in judgement or unsafe acts could affect the company, project owners, and employees. Responsibilities Duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to these essential tasks and are subject to change by the employer as needs arise in the company. · Gauge production on assigned wells, and report gauge readings, downtime and other pertinent well information to district office. · Perform lease maintenance such as minor surface pump and production equipment repairs and adjustments; trim weeds, clean up trash, etc.; grease pumping units, service lease equipment, etc. · Note problems and/or recommend courses of actions to supervisor in order to decrease costs and increase production · Assist in witnessing meter calibrations; monitor rates and pressures on injection and disposal wells; make necessary adjustments; monitor chemical use; and test safety systems daily to maximize daily production · Assist with downhole pump changes, tubing replacement, etc. on artificially lifted wells; assist with pump and compressor maintenance such as oil changes, obtaining oil sample for analysis, pulling compressor valves, tests and repairs · Perform work in a manner that ensures the secure and environmentally safe operation of all wells and leases for which pumper is responsible · Interface professionally with landowners · Conduct other tasks as required by supervisor which are unique to the assigned geographic area Qualifications · Must possess a high school diploma or GED equivalent from an accredited state-certified program · Must possess a current, valid driver’s license and the ability to meet and maintain all eligibility requirements to drive a company vehicle · Must have an interest in gaining knowledge of engineering principles and an understanding of subsurface and surface equipment and operations · Must be able to perform simple mathematic calculations, have good mechanical aptitude, good writing skills, and have a good safety and driving record · Prior work experience utilizing PC-based computer applications · Must be able to work a flexible schedule – work will include Saturdays, Sundays and some holidays and can be changed at any time Job Conditions The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
