POSITION TITLE: Laundry Maintenance Assistant TITLE OFSUPERVISOR: Operations Supervisor SUPERVISES: *None GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES: Responsible for the safe operation and transport of laundry to and from Caravelle Hotel and Company House Hotel and the central laundry facility, in accordance with established policies, procedures and controls. Displays a professional attitude toward guests, employees and each other to ensure a quality experience for all. MMINIMUM AGE REQUIREMENTS: *Must be 19 years old or older (for insurance purposes) GAMING: Must have the ability to obtain and maintain a Hotel Employee work permit. POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES: · Transport laundry to and from central laundry facility to hotels(s) · Load clean and dirty laundry in the cart and to the hotel · Bring laundry to each floor and stock according to PAR levels. · Carry out regular check of cart before and after each shift, including petrol levels. · Assist in minimal laundry maintenance needs (check water filters, clean lint filters etc.) · Keep shuttles clean and maintained at all times · Keep conversations to a professional and work-related nature · RUNS (never walks) for all pick-ups from the Caravelle Hotel Lot in accordance with established safety guidelines · Effectively communicates with laundry and hotel personnel. · Promptly clear the pathway of cars to be parked · Consistently offers professional, engaging and friendly service · Obey all Virgin Islands traffic rules and regulations. Remain within stipulated boundaries · Be empowered to resolve guest incidents and bring them to the attention of the Maintenance Supervisor, Laundry Manager and/or Director of Hotel Operations. · Must adhere to Company’s established COVID-19 protocol · Perform other duties as assigned by management QUALIFICATIONS: · High school diploma or equivalent required · Must have at least 6 months driving experience. · Must be able to drive both manual and automatic transmission vehicles. · Possess a valid driver's license with an official motor vehicle record that meets the recommended criteria outlined by our insurance carrier. · Able to walk, run or stand for up to 8 hours at a time. · Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds. · Must be able to work outdoors in all weather conditions. · Ability to communicate clearly and effectively in a courteous manner. · Must not have been convicted of a felony · Must submit to and pass an Alcohol/Drug Screen · Ability to communicate, and understand English, bi-lingual a plus · Must be flexible and prepared to work over-time, nights, weekends and holidays WORK ENVIRONMENT: Fast paced environment, multiple tasks to be handled under time constraints. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand, walk and run.
