We have a Janitor (Overnight Shift) opening.
Job Summary: Responsible for cleaning and helping to maintain buildings and grounds, removing debris, and keeping areas neat and tidy.
Job responsibilities include:

• Clean buildings by emptying trash, sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, and cleaning surfaces, windows, and furniture.
• At night, monitor building security and safety by making rounds of buildings and grounds at regular intervals; inspect doors, windows, and locks to see that they are properly and securely fastened; and check electrical appliances for potential hazards.
• Use and maintain power equipment and hand tools, buffers, auto scrubbers, extractors, high pressure washers, vacuums, brooms, mops, and squeegees for the cleaning and general maintenance of floors, walls, carpets, furniture, etc.
• Ensure proper use of cleaning solutions to remove stains and clean surfaces and proper mixing of cleaning agents; clean restrooms, windows, glass partitions, and mirrors; shampoo carpets and buff floors; move heavy equipment and furniture as necessary; and keep sidewalks and walkways clear of debris and snow.
• Identify and report possible repairs, safety hazards, or conditions including fixing minor plumbing leaks.
• Take care of grounds including maintaining any landscaping, gathering and disposing of rubbish and waste materials, and performing pest control as necessary.
• Perform general building maintenance as needed which may include washing and painting walls and deep cleaning production equipment or office areas.

Job requirements and essential job functions include:

• Must be able to operate and use janitorial tools, equipment such as floor buffers and vacuum cleaners, and cleaning supplies.
• Must be able to stand for long periods of time.
• Prolonged use of arms and legs and also twisting, bending, turning, squatting, and walking.
• Lifting of 50 pounds occasionally and pushing and pulling up to 75 pounds occasionally.
• Must be able to use ladders as necessary.
• Repetitive work.

Job qualifications include:

• Valid driver’s license required.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Janitorial experience required including how to properly use tools, equipment, and cleaning products.
• Knowledge of occupational hazard and safety rules required.
• Self-motivated and ability to follow instructions.
• Ability to balance and achieve positive results in areas of safety, quality, and productivity.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.

Work Environment: Typical plant environment- on the loading dock or outside the buildings, exposure to weather conditions prevalent at the time; can be hot and humid inside the plant- must be aware of safety protocols and avoid injury from bumping head from low rails and injury to hands from moving parts of machinery and tools.
