Inventory Control Coordinator - Surgery
Functioning within the Health System’s mission, values, objectives, procedures and policies, the Inventory Control Coordinator ensures the patient’s experience within Peri-Operative services is as stress free and safe as possible using current technology and procurement methods to assure all supplies, equipment and machinery necessary to perform each patient’s procedures are in house, functioning and available when needed. Through daily review of the upcoming surgery schedule, s/he is able to anticipate upcoming peaks and valleys in supply and equipment usage and to adjust the department’s par levels accordingly. The Inventory Control Coordinator demonstrates a fiscal responsibility to the organization; runs stock status reports, reviews the daily inventory log sheets, and makes patient-specific inventory adjustments. S/he also processes requisitions, completes the emergencies inventory as needed/when situation arises, and is responsible for maintaining an acceptable level of physical inventory necessary to carry out procedures scheduled daily, emergency and ongoing based on specific service line volumes. The Inventory Control Coordinator is responsible for classifying labeling of all inventory, for purchasing and assisting the receiving and shipping department in logging all incoming inventory, and for reconciling inventory records. S/he works in collaboration with the charge master to make sure that accurate charging is occurring; performs payroll functions for Surgical Services; and performs a variety of clerical functions in support of Director/Manager and department operations.
Education: Training as an LPN or Surgical Technician is preferred..
Licensure/Certification: None required. LPN or Surgical Technician licensure/certification preferred.
Experience: Previous material management or inventory control experience preferred..
Skills: Must have intermediate computer skills and strong numeric, verbal and organizational skills.
