Generations at Oakton Pavillion in Des Plaines, IL, has an Opening for an Full Time Infection Control Nurse (Nursing Home Infection Preventionist). Must be either an LPN or an RN . IP Certification a Plus!
Minimally, Must Have at least ONE of the following qualifications:
Salary of Between $72,800 - $90,000, ( Depending if RN or LPN and/or if Certified ), plus a Choice of Insurance Plans, PTO, 401k w/match, Opportunity for Advancement, and much more!

- Be in Process of Completing or Have Completed at least the 19 hour CMS Infection Prevention and Control Course, or other IP course

Responsibilities of the Infection Preventionist (RN/LPN):
- Support the facility's philosophy of care and strive to achieve its goals and objectives
- Establish the documentation format for all Infection Control reporting
- Establish specific policies and procedures for Infection Control as it relates to the following departments: nursing; maintenance; laundry; dietary; rehabilitation; and ancillary services
- Monitor the documentation of incidents of infection and file for reporting and analysis
- Address patterns or trends in the incidents of infection with appropriate follow-up and corrective action
- Supervise the performance of the corrective procedures by designated departments or individual staff
- Establish the objectives of Infection Control education and provide training and in services to facilitate their attainment
- Maintain the confidentiality of resident information
- Work as weekend Supervisor as part of manager on duty rotation
- Must be an experienced RN or LPN, licensed in the State of Illinois
- Experienced IP nurse preferred
- Nursing Home Infection Preventionist Certification preferred
- Minimally, must either be in the process of completing or have completed the 19 hour On Line CMS Infection Prevention and Control Course
- Skilled Nursing Facility Infection Prevention Experience
- Must have working knowledge of general nursing and geriatric nursing
- Knowledge of JCAHO, OBRA, IDPH, HFS regulations
- Compassion, tolerance and understanding of older adults
