A HTST/Mixer is an individual who can effectively lead the shift requirements while promoting a safe work environment with the best efficiency, while maintaining food safety, and product quality while following regulatory guidelines for sanitation and safety. The HTST/Mixer knows and understands each Dairy process flow from the receiving through processing of each product at Origin Food Group, LLC and how to operate each piece of equipment within those processes proficiently. Additionally, this person must be able to effectively direct and motivate teammates. This individual will fill in as needed for the HTST operator. While fulfilling these duties the HTST/Mixer may be asked to work on special projects from time to time The HTST/Mixer must be a hard working individual with great communication skills, problem solving skills and, who can lead others and operate machinery, and adhere to good manufacturing practices and follow sanitation and process procedures and guidelines. The primary purpose of this job is to take a raw milk product and pasteurize it through defined step by step process that insures that all products are completely up to state and federal guidelines, while maintaining food safety, and product quality while following regulatory guidelines for sanitation and safety. Essential Duties and Responsibilities · Unloading of raw milk from truck/tanker · Setting up and running truck/tanker washes · Setting up tanks and line circuits for CIP and then reassemble of items so they are ready to use · Keep all support equipment clean and up to state and federal guidelines · Keep general area clean · Run pasteurizing system sending product to correct tanks or tankers. · Prep pasteurized/raw tanks/set line circuits/CIP jumpers/test chemicals in CIP systems and make adjustments as needed/mark chart correctly Qualifications · Must have the ability to learn and understand the pasteurizing process including homogenization and separation of milk and cream · Must be able to batch up mix and other products in mix area · Be able to figure formulas to obtain correct products on a needed basis · Must be able to measure out ingredients/mix ingredients together/then able to run a Babcock test for butterfat and a total solids test · Must be able to perform mathematical formulas and take inventory and note lot numbers of ingredients used nightly · Be able to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals · Ability to lift and move up to 50 pounds · Must be able to work in temperatures both heat and cold · Must be trained in the HTST training course provided by the company · Must be able to pass the annual food safety training provided by the company Education and/or Experience · High School graduate · 1 Year + related experience · Clean criminal background Remarks: The above job description is intended to describe the duties of an employee in general terms and does not necessarily describe all of his or her duties.
