Season end date: 05/30/24
Compensation: $4,655 - $5,400 dependent upon experience

QUALIFICATIONS:

Ensure fields are playable for both practices and games. This will often require communication with the Port and Athletic Director
Must complete my247 and all WIAA trainings through Final Forms and Safe Schools through the district prior to the beginning of the sport's season
Provide clear and consistent communication to all players, parents, and other coaches when there are schedule changes
Provides instruction to students in the rules, regulations, equipment and techniques of the sport
Organizes and directs individual and small group practice activities/exercises
Assesses students' skills, monitors students during competition and practice
Provides determining game strategy
Follows established procedures in the event of an injury
Models sports-like behavior and maintains appropriate conduct towards students, officials and spectators
Supervises and maintains the equipment room in orderly condition and assumes responsibility for its security
Distributes and collects equipment, supplies and uniforms to students as directed by the head coach
Maintains a safe environment and facilities for student athletes at all times
Participates in special activities to include parent’s night, banquets, award nights, and pep assemblies
Performs support tasks such as distributing and maintaining eligibility forms, emergency data cards, and other related records
Models non discriminatory practices in all activities
Must complete Safe Schools training prior to the beginning of the sport's season

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

High School diploma or GED
Previous Coaching experience preferred
Reasoning Ability
Ability to communicate with high school students, parents, coaches and staff

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:

CPR/First Aid card

LANGUAGE SKILLS:

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules. Ability to speak effectively to administration, staff, students and parents.

OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

Ability to work independently and to communicate proactively
Teamwork and teambuilding
Strong communication skills
?Ability to mentor and motivate students
Skills in reading, understanding and following safety rules and regulations
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relations with students and staff
Ability to perform duties with awareness of District requirements and Board policies

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand and talk or hear and sometimes walk and sit. Occasionally the employee will bend or twist at the neck more than the average person. While performing the duties of this job, the employee may occasionally push or lift up to 50 lbs. The employee is directly responsible for the safety, well-being, or work output of other people. Requires some travel.
Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision such as to read handwritten or typed material, and the ability to adjust focus. The position requires the individual to meet multiple demands from several people and interact with the public and other staff.

Work Environment:

The noise level in the work environment is moderate to loud. Work is predominantly in athletic rooms and outside on athletic field(s). Temperature – normal climate, occasional adverse weather conditions. The noise level in the work environment is moderate to loud.
