De Vine is looking to hire a remote Graduate Instructor to teach one class for the Winter Quarter 2025. The Graduate Instructor, Operations Research & Mathematics, will be teaching one remote, synchronous / live, course for the Winter 2025 quarter. If you meet or exceed the below requirements, can teach one live section January through March with some preparation in December, then please apply! Description: This course is an application-oriented introduction to optimization. It introduces models (linear, integer and nonlinear programs), modeling tools (sensitivity and post-optimality analysis), and optimization software and solution techniques (including heuristics). It presents many military and private sector optimization applications in production planning and scheduling, inventory planning, personnel scheduling, project scheduling, distribution systems planning, facility sizing and capacity expansion, communication systems design, and product development. Must have equirements:
Master’s degree or higher in Operations Research, Mathematics, or a closely related academic field, with a strong emphasis on Optimization Modeling
2+ years' Do D experience in an applied Mathematics position that includes Linear Programming
2+ years' experience teaching technical courses in a graduate, resident environment
2+ years' experience teaching Optimization Modeling using Excel Solver at the graduate degree level
Hands-on experience in developing Linear Programming Models as demonstrated by (1) a tour of duty in a Do D analysis organization; (2) publication in research sponsored or academically sanctioned technical report; or (3) in a refereed journal such as Phalanx or Operations Research/Management Science
