Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced General Supervisor to oversee our construction projects and ensure that they are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in construction management, excellent leadership skills, and a thorough understanding of safety regulations. As a General Supervisor, you will be responsible for coordinating the activities of various teams, managing resources effectively, and maintaining clear communication with all stakeholders.
Responsibilities
Supervise and coordinate daily activities of construction crews on-site to ensure project timelines are met.
Ensure compliance with OSHA regulations and safety standards to maintain a safe working environment.
Utilize project management software such as Primavera, Heavy Bid, Prolog, and Pro Core for effective project scheduling and resource allocation.
Conduct regular inspections of work performed to ensure quality standards are upheld.
Collaborate with project managers and estimators to prepare accurate construction estimates and budgets.
Read and interpret blueprints and contracts to guide construction processes effectively.
Train and mentor team members in best practices for construction techniques and safety protocols.
Maintain clear communication with clients, subcontractors, and suppliers throughout the project lifecycle.
Experience
Proven experience as a General Supervisor or in a similar supervisory role within the construction industry.
Must have 5 years of experience being a Heavy Equipment Operator
Strong knowledge of construction estimating practices and project scheduling methodologies.
Familiarity with software tools such as Bluebeam for document management and collaboration.
Ability to read blueprints and contracts effectively, ensuring all specifications are met during construction.
Excellent leadership skills with the ability to motivate teams and manage conflicts effectively.
Strong problem-solving abilities with a focus on delivering results in high-pressure environments.
