Located at 1448 E Street in Lincoln, The Gathering Place serves free evening meals to homeless and near-homeless individuals and families living in our community. Community Action’s Gathering Place is looking for a helpful Operations Coordinator to support the serving operations of the Gathering Place. This role will also provide orientation and supervise volunteers.
This position is part time, 12 hours per week. The hours are Friday-Monday 3:30pm-6:30pm
Starting Pay: $17.41/hour with $1000 Training Incentive
The Role:

Share oversight of the meal serving operations.

Assist with meal completion and set of for meal service.

Welcome and orient volunteers.

Assign volunteers to specific duties and provide direction during the course of serving to assure appropriate serving per timeline and appropriate cleaning following serving.

Assure that evening volunteer and staff checklists are completed.

Complete a final walk through each evening to complete final tasks. Secure all entries, gates and doors.

Assist with proper food storage, inventory and donations as needed.
Qualifications:

Previous experience in providing direct services to client base preferred.

Previous experience managing food operations desired.

Sensitivity to the experiences, needs, and strengths of low-income and diverse populations, and individuals with disabilities.
