Responsibilities:
- Greet and welcome patients and visitors in a friendly and professional manner
- Answer phone calls and direct them to the appropriate staff members
- Schedule appointments and maintain the appointment calendar
- Check patients in and out, collect co-pays, and verify insurance information
- Maintain patient records and update medical charts using electronic systems such as Epic, e Clinical Works, or other medical record software
- Assist with medical scheduling and coordinate patient referrals
- Provide excellent customer service by addressing patient inquiries and concerns
- Manage office supplies and ensure the front desk area is clean and organized
Requirements:
- Previous experience working in a optometry office or medical receptionist role is preferred
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment
- Proficient in using basic office equipment (e.g., computer, printer, scanner)
- Knowledge of medical terminology is beneficial but not required
