Check and ensure the correctness of the temperature of appliances and food. Monitor the quantity of food that is prepared and the portions that are served. Ensure proper portion, arrangement, and food garnish to be served. Serve food in proper portions onto proper receptacle. Set-up, clean and break down work station. Wash and disinfect kitchen area including tables, tools, knives, and equipment. Prepare ingredients for cooking, including portioning, chopping, and storing. Wash and peel fresh fruits and vegetables. Prepare and cook food.

As a Prep Cook, a typical day will include:
Operates ovens, stoves, grills, microwaves, and fryers to prepare foods.
Sets up and breaks down workstations with required tools, equipment, and supplies.
Ensures proper portion, arrangement, and food garnishments are used according to standards.
Prepares and cooks food according to recipes, quality standards, presentation standards, and food preparation checklist, establishing priority items.
Follows and ensures compliance with food safety and handling policies and procedures.
Guest Experience and Company Standards
Welcome and greet guests and anticipate and address their needs.
Interact with colleagues and guests professionally and promptly.
Contribute to team goals.
Always follow company policies and safety procedures.
To Become a Prep Cook at HVC:
Available to work various shifts, holidays, and both weekend days.
Reach overhead and below the knees, perform bending, twisting, pulling, and stooping, and be able to stand, sit, or walk for an extended period of time.
Lift/Carry/Push/Pull Items that Weigh up to 25lbs without assistance.
Position may require background and drug screening contingent on company policy in accordance with applicable legal requirements.
