Key Responsibilities: As Sales Manager, you will lead a team of six (6) Capital Account Managers within the Huntsville, AL region (covering AL, TN, MS, and AR). The Sales Manager will oversee the daily operations of a designated sales team, focusing on conducting performance evaluations, providing mentorship, and offering guidance to enhance motivation and sales abilities. Additionally, this role will involve maintaining precise records of pricing, sales data, and activity reports submitted by Capital Account Managers. Your duties will include:
Team Leadership: Manage day-to-day activities, conduct performance evaluations, and provide coaching to foster team motivation and enhance selling skills.
Field Support: Spend the majority of your time in the field alongside the sales team, participating in client calls and offering constructive feedback.
Recruitment & Development: Hire, train, and mentor staff to ensure continued team growth and success.
Performance Management: Set and review measurable goals for the team, conducting quarterly reviews to monitor progress.
Strategic Planning: Develop and implement annual business and sales strategies to break into new markets.
CRM Utilization: Oversee the integration of territory sales activity into Salesforce.com, ensuring effective use by the sales team.
Customer & Partner Relations: Build and nurture relationships with clients and vendors to ensure customer satisfaction.
Collaboration: Work closely with internal teams, including Engineering and Productivity, to deliver seamless customer experiences.
Continuous Learning: Stay current on industry trends and developments by attending workshops, networking, and reviewing professional publications.
Qualifications & Skills: The Company is seeking candidates with the following qualifications:
Experience: 5–7 years in sales management, particularly in engineered products for industries such as aerospace, automotive, oil & gas, or metal fabrication. Knowledge of CNC systems or experience with long capital equipment sales cycles is preferred but not required.
Leadership: A proven ability to coach and mentor technical sales teams, driving them to exceed goals.
Competencies: Strategic thinker with a results-driven mindset, exceptional interpersonal skills, and adaptability within structured processes.
Travel: Willingness to spend up to 80% of time traveling with the sales team in the designated territory.
