About KPAA:
The Killington Pico Area Association (KPAA) is dedicated to being a strong advocate and representative for our members when engaging with local and state government, Killington Resort, and the greater Killington community. Through teamwork and networking, we aim to foster a thriving local economy and support our vibrant community in the greater Killington Region.
We are currently seeking a dynamic and creative Events and Communications Coordinator to join our team. This role will support the KPAA’s mission by working closely with the Director and KPAA committees to organize events, coordinate communications, and maintain an active presence on social media. Key Responsibilities: Communications and Member Engagement:
Coordinate member communications through social media platforms, weekly newsletters, and other digital channels.
Ensure KPAA website content is accurate, up-to-date, and engaging; contribute blog posts as needed.
Actively gather and share relevant business news, local events, and content to promote community involvement.
Event Coordination:
Assist with the planning, coordination, and execution of monthly mixers and three annual signature events: Haunted House, Vermont Holiday Fest, and Killington Wine Festival.
Support event logistics, including registration, vendor coordination, and on-site assistance.
Build relationships with vendors, local businesses, and community organizations to ensure successful event collaboration.
Coordinate monthly mixers, typically hosted at a member business, which offer opportunities for networking, informational speakers, and food and fun.
Social Media Coordination:
Develop, manage, and grow KPAA’s social media presence across multiple platforms (Facebook, Instagram, Threads, and potentially Tik Tok).
Create and curate a variety of content to keep information fresh, engaging, and reflective of the community.
Stay informed on local happenings to post relevant and timely updates.
Additional Responsibilities:
Provide support on other projects as directed by the Director and the Executive Board
Qualifications:
Proven experience in event planning and/or communications, preferably in a nonprofit or community-based organization.
Strong writing, editing, and communication skills.
Familiarity with social media platforms and website management tools.
Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
Flexibility to work on-site at events, with some evening and weekend availability required.
COMPENSATION
$18.50 - $21.00 per hour based on experience
20 hours a week
