The duties of this job revolve around the overnight care of dogs at Camp Canine and upkeep of the facility. The primary focus is to ensure that the we provide a safe and clean environment for our clients. Overnight Handlers are expected to spot clean and deep clean, and are responsible for trash, laundry, and inventory/stocking throughout the facility. Handlers ensure that the dogs (and cats!) in our facility are treated with loving care. The job's essential requirements include, but are not limited to:
Ability to lift 40 pounds
Ability to handle, in a controlled manner, dogs of any size and breed
Ability to read and/or understand written instructions/labels
Ability to act with a professional demeanor at all times
Flexible availability to be able to work any hours that business demands
Pet care and safety responsibilities:
Engage with pets in a safe manner
Clean up and discard pet stools and urine with a sense of urgency
Promptly report any health, behavior, or safety concerns to the supervisor
Clean and sanitize all pet enclosures and playrooms
This role would entail a two-week daytime training period during operations hours where you would train as a regular Handler. Once the training period is over, the schedule of this position would change to be two to three 10 hour shifts each week: M-F, the shifts are 8:15pm - 6:45am, Sa/Su, 7:15pm - 6:45am. The duties of the Overnight Handler are largely janitorial in nature and would not involve monitoring playtime. There would be the option of a mixed schedule of Overnight shifts and regular Handler shifts. At our facility, we prioritize the well-being of our employees.
