Director of Safety & Compliance

The Director of Safety & Compliance will direct and coordinate activities of the organization’s safety operations. They will administer compliance of operations personnel with administrative policies, procedures, safety rules, and governmental and OSHA regulations.

Responsibilities:

To manage and provide continual measurable improvement in our Safety program.
Oversight of collision prevention effort for the company.
Responsibility of collision investigation for opportunities for collision frequency & severity reduction.
Management of field and corporate safety personnel.
HOS and UVA oversight responsibility.
Oversight of Samsara coaching events.
Managements of CSA score reporting- Heat mapping or Safety.
Risk meeting with Regional Managers- LRA reviews.
Uphold the company’s core values of Teamwork, Integrity, Respect, and Excellence and Safety.

Qualifications:

4 year degree.
5-10 years’ experience in transportation, risk, safety, and compliance management, collision management, driver corrective action training, training for field safety personnel.
Solid familiarity with state and federal labor, OSHA, EEOC, and substance abuse legislation. Certifications in OSHA and DOT operations are helpful. NATMI Safety Director Certification a plus.

High Analytical skills. Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Strong leadership skills.
Proficiency in MS Office required. Experience with Magnus, Idelic, Samsara preferred.
Travel- 40%.
