GCI's Dir, Connectivity Products will lead the development and management of product strategy. Accountable for product roadmap and the development and management of product domains, managing the product lifecycle, and ensuring alignment with business and customer needs, meeting or exceeding portfolio EBITDA targets.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES AT ALL LEVELS:
This leadership position requires the following non-delegable responsibilities:

- Establishing the vision and tone for the department, consistent with company culture and mission.
- Establishing clear, measurable, and achievable goals and performance expectations and following up appropriately.
- Hiring individuals who can accomplish those goals and meet those expectations; providing them the open communication, training, tools, and mentoring needed to be successful and develop professionally; establishing a development path commensurate with capabilities and potential.
- Providing clear and accurate feedback to individuals and teams on a timely and consistent basis. Identifying and addressing performance problems early and effectively before they damage GCI’s interests and demoralize other employees.

Effectively managing processes including annual performance reviews, compensation adjustments, promotions, demotions, transfers, and disciplinary actions up to and including termination in an unbiased and consistent manner.
Own Product Roadmap:
Work with CTO Strategy team to document and deliver a strategy for mobile, internet, and integrated product lines, including:

Decisions on 24-month product strategy, roadmap, development, and lifecycle management
Approval of product requirements and feasibility assessments.
- Business valuation.
- Portfolio-specific on-time product delivery.
- Year over Year improvement in team employee satisfaction survey results.
- Portfolio contribution to EBITDA.
- ARPU, subscriber metrics, market penetration.
- Products successfully migrated or decommissioned in line with product strategy and roadmap.
- Customer Satisfaction.
Department compliance objectives met.
Lead Product Development and Management:
- Evaluate new opportunities and concepts against defined strategy.
- Direct the overall development and management of product domains, including Wireless, Broadband, Voice, Video, Business Products.
- Ensure that business requirements are accurately translated into product requirements, evaluating cost and feasibility trade-offs.
- Meet or beat portfolio-specific EBITDA targets.
- Evolve strategic programs, e.g. GCI+, through product definition.
- Ensure Business strategy alignment with product strategy.
Ensure customer and market needs assessments are completed.
Manage Product Lifecycle:
- Identify product lifecycle needs, including technical and financial product performance, timing and strategy around changes and/or legacy decommissioning as required.
Reduce one-off products.
Provide Strategic Input:
- Offer strategic direction to the CTO Strategy vertical and Business Units (BUs), ensuring product strategies align with corporate goals.
- Provide key product performance metrics.
Veto decisions on product features or technologies that do not align with long-term product strategies, such as, one-off products, pricing, sales promotions.
Collaboration:
- Collaborate with business units and CTO Strategy to ensure product strategies and roadmaps align with customer and business needs.
Work with other CTO verticals to align product development with the enterprise architecture & strategy.

- Proven experience with telecommunications and/or internet products and services including home and/or small business broadband services.
- Demonstrated experience leading teams in the development of business cases and/or complex customer proposals.
- Ability to develop detailed capital and operating budgets for the department. Familiar with reporting and tracking tools necessary to assure budget guidelines meet expectations.

Minimum Qualifications:
Required: * A combination of relevant work experience and/or education sufficient to perform the duties of the job may substitute to meet the total years required on a year-for-year basis

High School diploma or equivalent.
- Including a minimum of five (5) years in a supervisory or management position.
- Bachelor’s degree in marketing, business, economics, or related field. *
Minimum of twelve (12) years of experience in positions of increased responsibility in one or more of the following areas: Product Management/Development, Engineering, Product Marketing, Operations, Service Delivery, or related background. *
Preferred:
- Relevant Masters or Ph D.
- Telecommunications experience.
Relevant telecom industry or job specific certifications.
DRIVING REQUIREMENTS :
- This position may require access to reliable transportation for occasional travel between retail store locations, offices, worksites, or other locations as needed.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS and WORKING CONDITIONS:
- May have to deal with upset customers, vendors, contractors.
- Position requires occasional travel for business and training purposes, sometimes on short notice.
- Work performed at office, remote office, and client sites.
- Work is primarily sedentary, requiring daily routine computer usage.
- Ability to work shifts as assigned, work in standard office/home office setting, and operate standard office equipment.
- Ability to accurately communicate information and ideas to others effectively.
- Physical agility and effort sufficient to perform job duties safely and effectively.
