Design Specialist : Commercial Furniture and Design
Commercial Furniture Design and Sales Specialist This mid-senior level position will have a major emphasis on developing new business in the Los Angeles and Southern CA market, through prospecting, referrals, presentations, networking, and events. This sales role will work to promote Rypen and our services, providing a streamlined, holistic approach to design and furnish spaces that inspire and transform. Core customers include: A&D firms, Interior Design firms, procurement firms and dealerships, developers, hospitality groups, etc... Job Description Purpose: To foster and develop relationships with new and existing customers through a high level of hospitality-geared client management and support and through the creation of unique and compelling furniture, lighting, and accessory package design. Our ideal candidate is eager to jump in, is assertive, likes to wear many hats, is self-motivated, is dependable and can see tasks, projects and through to completion.
Is available, responsive, and timely to customer inquiries, requests for information, quotations, problem resolution, etc.
Projects and develops new business through market presence via industry events, networking, and connectivity in local markets.
Provides frequent and regular follow-up contact with customer regarding services, customer experience and satisfaction.
Conducts a professional, cooperative interface with the customer.
Identifies and qualifies new business opportunities.
Understand key market segments, leverages design and sales knowledge to build new business.
Build trust, credibility, and nurture collaborative relationships with key buying influencers.
Clarify the nature of a challenge, evaluate alternatives, and propose solutions.
Secure preferred pricing structures, negotiate contract terms and conditions as directed by management and secure final confirmation and signed agreements.
Ensure that the project, product, and service commitments exceed customer expectations.
Maintain records of account contact and sales activity: track, analyze, and report results.
Provide timely and accurate monthly sales forecasts.
Manage multiple assignments and tasks, set priorities, allocate time, and adapt quickly to changing circumstances.
Actively participate in sales training, continuing education, networking events, and sales and company meetings
Lead customer presentations, interviews, showroom tours, and RFP proposals.
Trade show representation and execution.
Local Travel is required and expected.
Experience
Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, design, or related field.
3-5 years proven sales or design success in commercial office furniture or related industry.
Proven ability to build and maintain relationships with customers.
Strong interpersonal communication.
Ability to present ideas, positions, proposals, and solutions in a thoughtful yet compelling manner.
Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite and CRM platforms.
Ability to work within a fluctuating sales cycle as well as internal and external decision makers.

Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, interior design or related field.
2 - 5 years of experience proven sales or design success in a commercial office furniture or related industry.
Experience with furniture specifications and/ or commercial furniture sales preferred.
Strong interpersonal communication skills.
Has the ability and is comfortable presenting ideas, proposals, positions, and solutions in front of existing and prospective clients.
Knowledge of the commercial real estate industry, procurement industry and general understanding of business practices, pricing and discounting
Proficient with Google and Apple platforms, and CRM Software or tech savvy. Proficient use of Microsoft Office suite and Adobe Creative Suite.
