Data Center Technician

Tasks and Responsibilities
Adherence to Safety Procedures
o All team members must adhere to the Microsoft Safe Rack Handling and Movement procedure (https://aka.ms/saferackhandlingandmovement)
Rack Unpacking
o Carefully unpack each rack, ensuring that all components are accounted for and undamaged.
o Dispose of packing materials in accordance with site regulations.
Movement from Dock to Final Rack Location
o Safely transport racks from the delivery dock to their final installation locations.
o Ensure that all movements are conducted in a manner that prevents damage to the racks and the facility.
Rack Footing
o Install the racks in their designated locations, ensuring they are properly footed and stable.
o Verify that each rack is positioned according to the site layout plan.
Rack Leveling
o Use appropriate tools to level each rack, ensuring stability and alignment.
o Confirm that all racks are level to prevent any operational issues.
Rack Grounding
o Ground each rack according to the specified electrical safety standards.
Rack Baying
o Connect racks together as required to form bays.
o Ensure that the baying is secure and meets the structural requirements.
Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) Uniform
o Contractor/Vendor companies are responsible for providing their employees with the required PPE.
o Eye protection: All personnel must always wear safety glasses on any construction sites and at all datacenters, except in administrative areas (e.g. offices, breakrooms, restrooms, lobbies, corridors).
o Hand protection: All personnel must always carry a pair of gloves with them when at a datacenter. The minimum requirements for gloves must take into account the necessary mechanical protection (cut, puncture and abrasion resistance), chemical protection, and other relevant performance characteristics.
o Foot protection: all personnel must always wear safety footwear when at a datacenter. Safety footwear must at a minimum have a safety toe (e.g. steel or composite).
o High visibility vests: High-visibility vests are required at datacenters when heavy equipment is in use (i.e. forklifts) or in other high-traffic areas (e.g., loading dock, rack movement).
Job Type: Contract
Pay: $22.18 - $24.10 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
