The Education and Economic Empowerment Coordinator VISTA will play a vital role in expanding Cross Over Community Development’s (COCD) efforts to empower immigrant and refugee communities in Dayton. This position supports the refinement and scaling of COCD’s ESL and vocational programs, specifically in healthcare, hospitality, and urban agriculture, to improve educational access and foster economic independence. Through this role, the VISTA member will engage with community partners, instructors, and participants to assess program impact, implement improvements, and tailor curriculum to meet the needs of participants with limited English or literacy skills. The VISTA will coordinate efforts to strengthen volunteer engagement and build new partnerships with local employers, creating a bridge between program participants and job opportunities. They will support the development of targeted marketing campaigns to raise awareness of program benefits and encourage volunteer involvement. Additionally, the VISTA member will organize cultural events and community workshops to promote social integration and celebrate participant achievements. Key responsibilities include conducting program evaluations, refining curricula, developing learning tools, and expanding community outreach. By supporting COCD’s mission, the VISTA member will contribute to the long-term success of participants, enhancing their ability to navigate new environments, achieve self-sufficiency, and actively engage with their communities. Member Duties : The VISTA Member will enhance and expand COCD's educational and vocational programs for immigrant and refugee communities.
