Summary:
Under general supervision, the Credits Analyst is responsible for the timely research and resolution of all outstanding credit balances, processing of refunds to efficiently resolve patients’ and insurance companies’ credits and refund requests, and for reviewing and resolving complex credits.
Responsibilities:
R eviews and resolves accounts in credit balance status.
F ollows up on open credit balances accurately and promptly. Manages work queues related to overpayments and credit balances.
I dentifies trends, communicates findings and escalates as appropriate.
E valuates the expected reimbursement per the existing contracts and follows appropriate guidelines to report and escalate discrepancies.
E stablishes a system to ensure refund requests from insurance companies are processed within 30 days of receipt.
A ccesses payor system resources to research and correct claims and initiate a recoupment when necessary.
P rovides support to ANTHC division and departments on specific projects.
P erforms other duties as assigned.
C redits Analyst II
P rovides training, guidance and support to Credits Analyst I.
R eviews and resolves more complex credits.
S enior Credits Analyst
P erforms duties of the Credits Analyst I and II.
D evelops and tests new workflows and assists in implementation of new office processes and procedure.
R eviews and resolves accounts in credit balance status created in routine posting events as well as errors created by charges, coding and billing mistakes.
C onducts root cause analysis of issues affecting overpayments and assists in tracking, trending and reporting.
A ssist in developing audit review methods in order to find new overpayment recovery opportunities.
T rains and mentors staff. Assists in monitoring of staff in training and beyond.
T akes lead on special projects as assigned to ensure timely completion.
A ssists in distributing workload among coworkers; provides assistance to coworkers; monitors and reviews coworkers’ progress.

C redits Analyst I
N on-supervisory – Three (3) years of work experience. An equivalent combination of relevant education and/or training may be substituted for experience.
C redits Analyst II
N on-supervisory – Five (5) years of department experience. An equivalent combination of relevant education and/or training may be substituted for experience.
S enior Credits Analyst
N on-supervisory – Seven (7) years of department experience. An equivalent combination of relevant education and/or training may be substituted for experience.
A DDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS
M ay be required to work outside the traditional work schedule.
